AN EASY WAY TO PAIR OUTFITS FOR MEN

Guys always tell me one of their biggest struggles is pairing outfits. There are multiple ways to pair things together, and when you know what works for you and why, things become REALLY easy.

But nevertheless, there are still some great frameworks I use with clients when they're just getting their feet wet.

Today, I'm going to cover one of the easiest ones I've developed for clients...

I call it the 50a/50c...

"a" stands for Achromatic and "c" stands for Chromatic.

An achromatic color is one that lacks hues such as white, grey, and black, and a chromatic color is a color that has even the slightest amount of hue (color).

When you're putting together an outfit, try doing a 50/50 split with an achromatic and a chromatic color. Meaning, that half of your outfit will be a grayscale color (white, gray, black), and the other half with be an actual color.

You will see this constantly in men's style once you start looking for it. I've included some examples below, but anywhere you look, you'd be hard-pressed NOT to find an outfit that was made up with at least 50% grayscale.

In fact, here's a photo of my lady, reading a book next to me, also in a 50a/50c outfit.

The whole premise of this revolves around the idea that an actual color will not compete with the lack of color (achromatic) so it always works.

So, the next time you don't know what to wear or what to pair something with, try a 50/t0 split in your outfit, having either the top or bottom being a grayscale (achromatic) color, and watch how easily things pair.
